The details
What this downloader does
X does not provide a general-purpose public download API. Fetchora depends on its extraction companion for post media and uses the public publish oEmbed endpoint only for preview metadata such as the author and text.
A post can contain several videos or animated GIFs. The extractor returns each media item with its own variants; Fetchora lists them separately instead of assuming one MP4. Video quality labels come from the dimensions and bitrate the source reports.
Protected accounts, age-restricted posts, deleted posts, and conversations that require login are not accessible. X frequently changes its private API, so the companion needs regular updates.
Actual outputs
Formats you may see
Availability is decided per link. This table describes the source's possible outputs, not a promise for every URL.
MP4
Video variants with dimensions and bitrate as reported by the extractor.
Animated GIF
The source often delivers these as MP4; Fetchora labels the actual container.
Images
Photo attachments when the extraction engine returns them.
Multiple media
Each attachment is a separate, labelled option.
Step by step
How to use it
1
Copy the public link
Open the post in a browser and copy its URL. Do not use a screenshot or a private share payload.
2
Paste it above
Fetchora detects the provider from the host and path, then validates the destination before fetching.
3
Pick a verified format
Choose by resolution, type, codec, and size. Video-only streams are labelled. A format appears only after a real upstream response.
4
Download or process locally
The file streams through a signed link. For codec changes or merging, use the toolkit on files already on your device.
Known limits
What this page will not do
Protected and age-restricted posts are not accessible.
No X account or browser cookie is used by the extraction service.
The public oEmbed endpoint is metadata only; it never provides a video file.
Troubleshooting
X / Twitter downloader FAQ
Can I download from a protected X account?
No. Fetchora does not authenticate as a follower and does not bypass protected-post access.
Why is an animated GIF shown as MP4?
X commonly transcodes animated media to MP4. Fetchora reports the real container rather than labelling the file as a GIF.
Does the preview card prove a video is downloadable?
No. oEmbed previews do not include media files. Fetchora requests the extraction service before it offers a download option.
