The details

What this downloader does

High-resolution social video is frequently split into a video-only stream and a separate audio stream. Fetchora labels both, signs each URL independently, and never calls a video-only file a complete MP4.

The MP4 action merges the selected tracks on your device. The video stream is copied without re-encoding; if the source audio is Opus or WebM, only the audio is encoded to AAC so the output is a valid MP4. If the video container is not MP4-compatible, the merge falls back to MKV and says so in the result.

Direct MP4 links still work without any extraction service. They are probed for content type and size before Fetchora offers a signed download.

Actual outputs

Formats you may see

Availability is decided per link. This table describes the source's possible outputs, not a promise for every URL.

MP4 video

Combined or video-only MP4 as returned by the source; audio presence is labelled.

Merged MP4

Video copied and audio encoded to AAC locally when the source audio is not MP4-compatible.

MKV fallback

Used only when the video container cannot be carried in MP4 without re-encoding.

MP3

The separate audio track can be encoded to MP3 locally instead.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. 1
    Copy the public link

Open the post in a browser and copy its URL. Do not use a screenshot or a private share payload.

  2. 2
    Paste it above

Fetchora detects the provider from the host and path, then validates the destination before fetching.

  3. 3
    Pick a verified format

Choose by resolution, type, codec, and size. Video-only streams are labelled. A format appears only after a real upstream response.

  4. 4
    Download or process locally

The file streams through a signed link. For codec changes or merging, use the toolkit on files already on your device.

Known limits

What this page will not do

  • Private, login-gated, and DRM-protected video is not accessible.
  • Browser merging is capped at 300 MB total and depends on available memory.
  • A video with no separate audio stream cannot be magically given sound.
  • HLS and DASH manifests are not advertised as finished MP4 files.
Troubleshooting

MP4 downloader FAQ

Why are video and audio separate?

Many platforms deliver high-resolution video and audio as separate streams. Fetchora keeps them separate, signs both, and offers a local merge instead of hiding the distinction.

Does merging re-encode the video?

No. The video stream is copied. When the audio is not MP4-compatible, only the audio is encoded to AAC. If the video container itself is incompatible, the result is an MKV rather than a broken MP4.

Can I download the original video without merging?

Yes. The Video button downloads the signed video-only stream exactly as the source returned it.
